Over time, components in our washing machines wear out and need replacement to ensure optimal performance. Samsung washers are no different and among the parts that need occasional replacement are the suspension rods. These key elements aid the internal drum to become stable while spinning and agitating. They absorb a lot of the movements of a washing machine. Unfortunately, defective or worn-out suspension rods can destabilize your washer resulting in excessive shaking, unbalanced loads, increased noise and worst-case scenario, water leakage. But don't worry! With a bit of patience and some straightforward steps, you can replace these suspension rods on your own and have your Samsung washer operating smoothly again. Before you start replacing the suspension rods, it's essential to gather all the tools you will need for the job. A flat blade screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, needle-nose pliers, work gloves for protection and of course, the replacement rods are necessary items. As you begin, remember always to consider safety first. Cut off power supply to your Samsung washer by unplugging it from the socket. Also, ensure to turn off the washer's water supply to prevent water leakage during the replacement process. Now let’s start by first removing the top panel using your screwdriver. Unscrew the screws that hold the panel in place, keep them safe as you'll need them after the replacement. Then, gently push back and lift the panel, and it should slide off relatively easily. Next is to locate the suspension rods. Usually, in Samsung washers, you will find them at the four corners of the machine. Once you find them, let's get into the actual replacement process. To remove the first rod, use your needle-nose pliers to clutch onto the suspension rod's top plastic component that attaches it to the body of the washer. Then, lift the rod to free it from the slot. Afterward, secure the inner tub by using duct tape to prevent it from moving around when other rods are being replaced. Repeat the process for the remaining rods. Having removed all suspension rods, it's time to fix the new ones. Hold the top of the new rod, slide it into the slot you removed the old one from, and push it down until you hear a click sound that signals it's well seated. Remember to ensure the rods are installed at their respective positions. Repeat this process for all suspension rods. As soon as you've successfully installed all the new suspension rods, you can remove the duct tape securing the washer's inner tub. At this point, it's time to reattach the washer's top panel. Position it correctly and push it gently forward until it fits into its original state. With that done, take the screws you safely kept and assemble them back in their places. Finally, turn the washing machine's water supply back on and plug it into the power socket. Conduct a quick test by running a washing cycle. If the machine no longer shakes excessively or makes noise while spinning, congratulations, you've successfully replaced the suspension rods of your Samsung washer! Remember, it's important to utilize genuine Samsung parts for the replacement to preserve your washer's quality. However, suppose you are not comfortable performing the replacement on your own. In that case, it's commendable to seek assistance from a skilled technician or directly from Samsung's authorized service centers. They are well-trained to handle any washing machine-related repairs, offering you professional and reliable services. In conclusion, using this straightforward guide, you don't have to be a technician to replace your Samsung washer's suspension rods. It saves you time and the costs attached to hiring professional services. So next time you notice your machine shaking abnormally or the clothes are not balanced, consider checking the suspension rods. The experience of replacing them by yourself will leave you feeling accomplished and your Samsung washer functioning as good as new.
